| 13108 | Reported Error | Department of Transportation (DOT) | The link above leads to a public-facing presentation of the DOT Automated Bike Counter data. (It is an expanded view of the data presented on this page: https://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/bicyclists/bikestats.shtml.) I think there are errors in the calculations of the 2026 monthly counts, or else data were missing, and the daily averages were estimated from the remaining data. For example, the total traffic volume for September 2026 is given as 125,652 counts, and the daily average as 4654 counts, whereas 4654×30 would equal 139,620. Similarly, the total count for June was 127,177, and the daily average was 6056, but 6056×30 would be 181,680. Might you be able to explain these anomalies? If they do result from estimates substituting for missing data, it would be very helpful if the DOT put a note to that effect on the relevant pages. Many thanks for your assistance. |

| 13107 | Data Question | Department of Parks and Recreation (PARKS) | Hello NYC Parks / NYC Open Data team, I am working with Forestry Tree Points (hn5i-inap, data last updated October 7, 2026) and have a question about the RiskRating column. Your data dictionary documents the Risk Assessments RiskRating as 3-12, "Combination of Failure, Impact Target, and Consequence" (each scored 1-4). In Forestry Tree Points, 72 rows carry a RiskRating below that range: 0 on 14 rows, 1 on 22 rows and 2 on 36 rows, with RiskRatingDate between 2017-02-24 and 2020-01-03. Examples (GlobalID, each rated 0, dated 2020-01-03): 154E6059-6C9A-403D-9048-1B9BF46DF6BD, 0B250E1A-801F-4843-A7A8-45BC9A0DD364, 090AE20D-95D5-4F76-8E73-9575A8377C7B. My questions: 1. What do ratings of 0, 1 and 2 mean - a placeholder, an earlier scale, or a data-entry error? Should they be treated as missing? 2. When one Level 2 inspection records several defects (several Risk Assessment rows), which total does the tree point's RiskRating keep - the highest, or another rule? In case it is useful: in Forestry Risk Assessments (259a-b6s7), RiskRating equals Failure + ImpactTarget + Consequence on 1,544,190 of the 1,544,207 rows that have all four values; 16 of the 17 exceptions have CreatedDate 2017-09-26. | 13103 | Data Question | New York City Fire Department (FDNY) | Good morning, I am looking at these three datasets and had a few questions about how the information. 1. Does FDNY document how STARFIRE dispatch records relate to NYFIRS incident records? 2. Is there any documented connection between STARFIRE_INCIDENT_ID and IM_INCIDENT_KEY 3. Does BFI provide any identifier that links to either of those? 4. Does FDNY explain when a fire gets a BFI investigation? 5. Is there any official description of how dispatch records, incident reports, and BFI investigations relate? Thank you in advance for any answers you can provide or sources where I may find these answers. | 13100 | Data Question | Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) | It would be really helpful to other City agencies and potential job seekers if the Jurisdictional Classification and Incumbent Salary were included in this dataset, as it is germane to understanding which titles require a civil service exam and, for agency human capital, the potential impact of hiring an incumbent. | NYC Civil Service Titles | https://data.cityofnewyork.us/d/nzjr-3966 | Response not sent yet. | Pending | 2026-10-07T00:00:00.000 | 2026-10-09T00:00:00.000 |
| 13098 | Data Question | The NYC Open Data Team | Hello, 1. how can I tell what list is up to date or expired? 2. I see my name and the title of ***, next to an agency many times. I was only contacted by the New York law Department in 2023, and the NYCT also in 2023 regarding the *** position. Since my name is displayed several times next to an agency does that mean the agency tried to contact me? | Civil Service List Certification | https://data.cityofnewyork.us/d/a9md-ynri | We are in receipt of your request. | 13095 | Data Question | Department of Buildings (DOB) | Hello. I am writing an academic paper analyzing the emissions effects of NYC LL97 (and related policies) that was previously a part of my PhD dissertation. I have been using "NYC Building Energy and Water Data Disclosure for Local Law 84 2023 to Present (Data for Calendar Year 2022-Present)" and the previous vintages of this dataset back to 2012. I am close to finishing the paper, however, I need data for 2026 in order to complete my first draft (since one exemption group has until 2026 for first reporting). I know that the data will be updated on the website once it is ready, but I was wondering if you could possibly release the data to me prior to its public release for a short period of time. The reason is very simple: as a young, junior scholar, it is very easy for older and more senior scholars to steal my paper and publish it before me, even if I present the idea and publish the working paper first, making my last five years studying NYC climate policies result in no contribution to economics and climate policy debate around the world. It would be a huge break in my career if you would be willing to provide me exclusive access for a short period of time if possible prior to its public release. I would be happy to discuss more with your team and leadership, present my preliminary results, and of course credit NYC DOB as you prefer. If it's not possible to provide the data early, I would still be eager to present my results to the DOB and any other interested parties. Thank you for your consideration. | 13079 | Data Question | Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) | License confirmation: NYC Orthoimagery 2024/2022 tile service in a commercial app. Hello, I build ***, an app for NYC facade contractors. We display the NYC OTI Citywide Orthoimagery (2024 and 2022, 6-inch) as a roof texture in a 3D view of a single building, served from the public ArcGIS tile service above, with the credit "(c) City of New York - NYC OTI orthoimagery (CC BY 4.0)". The OTI metadata lists the imagery as CC BY 4.0, while the ArcGIS item links to the general NYC.gov Terms of Use. Could you confirm that use under CC BY 4.0 with that attribution is acceptable in a commercial application? We cache small crops per building and do not redistribute the full dataset. | 13078 | Data Question | Department of Transportation (DOT) | This is a follow-up on an inquiry I submitted yesterday evening, 13072. I have found the answers to the first two questions I asked. (Sorry, I'm new at this, and initially missed the fact that there were three tabs on the page that included the most recent bicycle counts, so I thought that the page didn't contain any data.) My questions 3 and 4 remain in force: In sum, the Queensboro Bridge entries are all classified as referring to bikes in the travelMode category.
